The cost of TEF Canada in the Toronto area depends on the tests you are registering for. At CSA Toronto’s Brampton centre, the four TEF Canada tests currently total CAD 420. The same individual prices are displayed during online registration, so candidates can review the amount before completing payment.

Which tests do immigration candidates need?
For a federal Canadian immigration application, the official TEF Canada rules require reading, listening, writing and speaking in the same session. For a Canadian citizenship application, the compulsory TEF Canada tests are listening and speaking. Requirements for Quebec immigration and TEFAQ can be different, so candidates should confirm the correct exam and abilities before paying.
Selecting fewer tests simply because the total is lower can create a result that does not meet the purpose of the application. A test centre can explain its registration options, but it cannot choose an immigration pathway or provide legal advice for a candidate.
When is the seat confirmed?
A seat is confirmed only after successful payment. CSA Toronto uses a first-paid, first-reserved process. Completing personal information without finishing payment does not hold a place, and availability may change while a registration remains unpaid.
Cancellation fees and refunds
Seven or more calendar days before the exam, a candidate may request cancellation or a one-time date change. If cancelling, CAD 40 per test is deducted from the refund. Less than seven calendar days before the exam, there is no cancellation, refund or date change. A date change may be considered for a medical exception supported by a valid medical note, but the policy does not provide a refund for that exception.
The phrase “per test” is important. A candidate registered for four tests should not assume the total cancellation deduction is only CAD 40. Review the policy shown on the payment page before confirming the purchase.
Do you pay again if you retake TEF Canada?
Yes. A new attempt requires a new registration and payment. There is also a minimum wait of 20 calendar days before retaking the same TEF test, regardless of the test centre. A no-show is not a free transfer to another session.
What the fee covers
The exam fee covers registration and administration of the selected official TEF tests at the centre. It does not include a preparation course, guaranteed score, immigration consultation or accelerated result service. Results are processed and issued through CCI Paris Île-de-France.
